About Us
The mission of the Georgia Dental Foundation is to provide the underserved of Atlanta increased access to affordable dental and orthodontic care, and to increase the number of Atlanta-area orthodontists by providing scholarships to students attending Atlanta-area orthodontic programs.
Purple Heart Smiles
As part of its mission, the Georgia Dental Foundation, in conjunction with the Georgia School of Orthodontics, has launched the Foundation’s Purple Heart Smiles Program.
Our Purple Heart Smiles Program serves and empowers children of veterans who were wounded, injured, or killed during their service by providing the opportunity to receive complimentary, high-quality orthodontic treatment. To date we have provided care to over twenty children of Purple Heart recipients.
Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Program
The Georgia Dental Foundation has partnered with UMBRA Health and the Georgia School of Orthodontics to launch the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Program. A team of 12 multidisciplinary specialists will provide, at no cost, comprehensive treatment to more than 100 children born with cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial anomalies.

Scholarships
The Georgia Dental Foundation is proud to provide scholarships to student attending Atlanta-area orthodontic programs. To date, we have provided $100,000 in scholarships to Atlanta-based orthodontic residents. It is our hope that our scholarship program will increase the number of Atlanta-area orthodontists, who will then be able to provide the underserved of Atlanta increased access to affordable dental and orthodontic care.
